Behind the camera
About Joan — Mallorca Wedding Photographer
I am Joan, a photographer from Mallorca. I came to weddings through commercial photography, where I learned to care deeply about light, colour, composition and every detail inside the frame. Weddings gave that craft a different purpose: preserving real people, real relationships and the energy of a day that cannot be repeated.
My way in
Commercial craft. Documentary instinct.
Commercial work taught me rigour: how to control what can be controlled and how to notice when a frame is almost right. Years of photographing weddings taught me the opposite skill too—how to respond quickly, trust the moment and avoid polishing the life out of it.
I bring both ways of seeing to every wedding. The photographs can have the confidence of an editorial while still belonging completely to the people in them.
From Mallorca
Mallorca is not a backdrop. It is home.
My family, friends and roots are here. I know the direct Mediterranean sun, the changing colour of the stone and the way the light softens as the day moves into evening. Those things are part of my visual language because they are part of my life.
Mallorca is also where local celebrations meet an international wedding world. I photograph weddings across the island and travel worldwide when the connection and the project feel right.
On the day
Attentive, close and never the main character.
I am friendly, observant and prepared. I can take the lead during preparations, portraits, group photographs and guest requests, especially when a little confidence or speed helps everyone. During the ceremony, I work as discreetly as possible.
The goal is not to be invisible all day. It is to be useful when my presence improves the experience and quiet when the moment belongs to you.
The connection
Different ideas are welcome. Human connection is essential.
I am naturally drawn to weddings with an artistic, indie or unexpected point of view—visual installations, unusual spaces, young energy and a party that becomes its own world. But style is never the whole reason a wedding works.
The celebrations I love most are the ones where we connect easily, trust each other and can feel like friends by the time the day arrives.
